Carpet Backing Cloth (CBC)
Carpet backing cloth is primarily made of jute. It is constructed of a plain open weave and is used so that high-quality fabrics can be woven into it. It is very stiff and adds dimensional stability to the carpet. Many companies nowadays treat the backing fabric so that it is mold, mildew, and rot-resistant, as it is an integral part of the carpet structure.
